How Much Oil Should I Be Using to Cleanse and Moisturize?
This is an extremely common question that I get, and the answer varies from person to person.
For oil cleansing, most people should use approximately a nickel to quarter size amount to cleanse their entire face.
If you have makeup on, you should first oil cleanse on dry skin to remove your makeup. Apply the oil, massage it into your skin to loosen the makeup, then remove your makeup and the oil with a cotton pad.
Once your makeup is removed, you should then oil cleanse your skin to get the nourishing benefits without the makeup getting in the way. Wet the skin with warm water, then apply the oil to your skin and massage all over your face and neck for approximately 60 seconds. Then, add warm water to a face cloth, and remove the oil from your face using this cloth.
Instead of focusing on the number of drops of oil that should be used to moisturize, it’s important to listen to your skin. Your skin will answer this question even better than I will.
General Rule of Thumb:
Most people will use anywhere from 3-10 drops of oil, per use, to moisturize. This rule applies to every oil in the R Devine Skin Care line. Every oil that I make is fast-absorbing. Once you apply the oil, it should completely absorb into your skin within 5-10 minutes. If after 10 minutes, you find that your skin feels oily, you’ve used too much. If after 10 minutes, you find that your skin feels dry or slightly tight, your skin needs more oil. Play around with the number of drops that you use until your skin feels completely comfortable and balanced after 5-10 minutes.
Some of you will need only 3 drops, others will need 10. Your skin knows best. If you listen to its needs, you’ll begin to understand more and more what it is that your skin needs.
I hope this post answers this question. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.
