New to Natural Deodorant or Have Had Bad Luck Finding One That Works?
A 3 to 4 week detox period should be expected when switching from conventional deodorant to natural deodorant.
Why? Your underarms are one of the detoxification areas of your body. When you use conventional deodorant, you prevent your underarms from perspiring. By preventing this important detoxification process, toxins get trapped inside the body. Not only this, but conventional deodorants also contain alumunium, which with continued use, accumulates in your liver. Overtime, this congests the liver and can cause health problems later on in life.
When you stop using conventional deodorant, your underarms will begin to detoxify, releasing a lot of built up toxins. This detoxification process can cause an unpleasant odour. This does not mean that the natural deodorant is not working. This typically occurs during weeks 1-3 after you stop using conventional deodorant. By weeks 4-6, you should be completely detoxed, and the natural deodorant will then keep you fresh. To spead up the detox process, you can apply apple cidar vinegar as a toner to your underarms before applying Devinely Fresh.
While using natural deodorant, you will notice that you will sweat. Natural deodorant does not prevent you from sweating (nor should any product). However, Devinely Fresh will keep your sweat scent-free.
Lastly, it is important to understand that a diet high in fats, proteins and/or certain spices will typically cause more body odour. Eating a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables will help your liver do its job of detoxificaton a lot more efficiently, naturally reducing your body odour.
