Where are you located?

R Devine Skin Care is located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Are you open to the public?

We do not have a storefront. We have a very small, private skin care studio where our products are hand-crafted, packaged up and shipped from, but we do not have the space for shopping at this point in time. We take pride in beautifully packaging up your orders and shipping them straight to your door.

Do you have a phone number I can call?

Because we do not have a store front and spend most of our days in our skin care studio hand-crafting our skin care products, we are often not available to take phone calls. We kindly ask that you contact us via email at info@rdevineskincare.com and we will respond to your email as promptly as possible.

I want to order skin care products, but live locally. Is there an option for local pick up?

If you’re local to Hamilton, and would like to pick up your order instead of having it shipped, please select “Local Pickup” as your shipping option at checkout. All of our products are made fresh to order, so your order may take 2-5 days for us to fill. As soon as your order is complete, we will contact you to arrange a time for you to pick up your order. When you come to pick up your order at your scheduled time, your order will be waiting in our mailbox at our side door. Our address and further details will be emailed to you at this time.

What makes R Devine Skin Care different?

For far too long, the beauty industry has taught us that skin health is external, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The conventional beauty industry forces the skin to act in unnatural ways, often causing skin sensitivities, inflammation and premature aging.

At R Devine Skin Care, we take a holistic approach to the skin, meaning that we treat the skin from a whole body approach. This means that while treating the skin externally with minimalist, skin-respecting ingredients, we also teach you:

  • how to massage your skin for improved skin health
  • how to take care of your nervous system and lymphatic system, which are the two most important systems for skin health
  • how to clear congestions, acne-prone skin and reduce inflammation
  • how to age gracefully, naturally

We strongly believe in resetting the skin’s natural, biological processes while encouraging your delicate skin to function on its own as its meant to. Our minimalist, high-quality skin care products, combined with the power of daily self massage, will make your skin the healthiest that it’s ever been before. We promise!

Are essential oils safe to be using on my skin?

Absolutely! There is a lot of mixed information and misinformation out there surrounding essential oils, but I am fully trained on using them. I only use the highest quality, organic essential oils, which are used in very strict ratios in each product. Every essential oil used is meticulously chosen for its medicinal and therapuetic benefits on the skin. When skin care products are formulated with essential oils at the proper ratio, essential oils can have very positive, powerful effects on the skin.

Why don’t I see Vitamin C, Vitamin E, retinol, or any other trendy anti-aging ingredients in your products?

Vitamin A, C, E and other vital nutrients are naturally found in our plant ingredients, and therefore, do not need to be added to any of the products. The vitamin C and E that you see added to other brands skin care products, as well as retinoids, hyaluronic acid and other trendy ingredients are synthetic ingredients 99% of the time and are not natural, nor are their extraction methods ever natural. Using synthetic and highly processed ingredients on the skin causes more harm than good, especially when we look at long-term results.

Just like how it’s better to get our internal vitamins and nutrients from our food sources, like fruits, vegetables and seeds, it’s also best for our skin to get its vitamins and nutrients naturally, straight from the plants that produce them.

Do you offer samples?

We do not sell individual samples, however, we do include a free sample in each of our online orders. If there is a specific product that you would like to try, please let us know in the “Order Notes” at checkout, and if we have it in stock, we will add it to your order.

I am new to your skin care line. What do you suggest for my skin?

Because our Skin ReSet routine has been created to reset the skin, balance the pH levels and replenish the skin’s delicate microbiome, I highly recommend that everyone begin their R Devine Skin Care experience with the Skin ReSet Kit or the Starter Set. Both of these kits contain the Skin ReSet routine products and were created to balance all skin types and skin conditions.

I have acne and have tried everything. What do you recommend?

There is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to acne, and I know first-hand how frustrating it can be. Acne, contrary to what the beauty industry, is caused internally. I have a lot of information on my blog about acne, like this one, this one and this one.

As for products, I highly recommend started with the Skin ReSet routine, by purchasing either the Skin ReSet Kit or the Starter Set. Both of these kits contain the Skin ReSet routine products and were created to help heal, balance and reset the skin’s natural processes.

I have wrinkles. Can your products get rid of them? What should I use for anti-aging?

Our Skin ReSet routine combined with daily self massage is one of the best things you can do to help yourself age gracefully. Regular flow and movement of the fluid within the skin is necessary for optimal skin health, a vibrant glow and healthy cell turnover.

Aging is inevitable. It’s not something we can prevent or completely reverse. Instead of trying to prevent or reverse, our best option is to restore the skin’s natural processes and support the skin at every level. When we put our focus on achieving healthy skin, the signs of aging become less noticeable. Unfortunately, most “anti-aging” treatments and products are the market actually accelerate the aging process rather than help it.

The human body biologically ages and we need to try to stop listening to the beauty industry and no longer allow them to make us feel crummy about our aging faces.

I want to start the Skin ReSet routine. Should I stop using my other products?

The Skin ReSet routine is a very simple, minimalist skin care routine, which is what our skin craves. When we overdo our skin routine by using too many products, we risk disrupting the skin’s innate, natural processes. Unless you are in need of a good makeup remover or would like an eye serum, the Skin ReSet routine along with your daily self massage is ALL you will need for healthy skin… no more, no less, indefinitely.

Should I be exfoliating while using the skin reset kit?

Personally, I am not a fan of exfoliating the skin, and strongly believe that exfoliating the face and neck causes more harm overtime than it does good. I wrote a blog post on why you should stop exfoliating your skin, and what you should do instead for smooth, vibrant skin (hint: it has to do with self massage).

What is the shelf life on the products?

Our products last anywhere from 12-18 months, depending on the product. You’ll find a batch number and a best before date sticker on the bottom of each product. This best before date is simply a guideline. Most of our products last beyond the best before date, as long as they are stored at room temperature or colder, and away from direct light. Just like the food we eat, you can tell if a product is still good beyond the best before date based on its scent. If it still smells like it did the first day you opened it, you can feel confident in using it beyond the best before date.

My product looks or smells slightly different than my last bottle. Did you change the formulation?

I never change the formulations without notifying all of my clients first, and leaving a note on the product page of our website. Reformulations are very rare, as we love our products exactly as they are.

With this being said, slight changes in colour and scent are completely normal with natural products. Just like how two roses never look identical, different batches of the plants and herbs we use in my skin products can vary slightly in scent and colour. My product formulations always stay the same, so if you notice a slight scent or colour change from bottle to bottle, you are simply just picking up on the subtle changes of nature. The efficacy of the products always remains the same.

Do you test on animals?

Never! I love my furry friends and would never, ever test on animals. At R Devine Skin Care, I only test new formulations on myself and my willing human friends and family.

Are your products vegan?

Most of our products are vegan, however, three of our products contain either honey or beeswax. I source these two ingredients very cautiously, from local, bee-friendly farmers who I completely trust. The 3 products that contain either honey or beeswax are Radiant Soul Moisturizing Honey Mask, Sacred Kiss Lip Balm and Sacred Healer Magic Soothing Balm. All of the other products in the line are vegan.

Are your products safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding?

All of our face products are completely safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Our face products contain pregnancy-safe essential oils in very low ratios.

Typically, our bath and body products are also safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but do contain slightly higher ratios of essential oils than our face products do. Because of this, I always suggest asking your doctor or midwife before using any of our bath and body products during pregnancy.

Can you recommend a good sunscreen?

Yes! I get asked this question a lot, so I wrote an entire blog post on Natural Sun Protection.

I have a lot of empty R Devine Skin Care bottles. Will you take them back for refill?

I do love the idea of a refill program, however, due to the small size of our studio and nature of our products, I am unable to reuse bottles. Unfortunately, we do not have the equipment or space necessary to properly clean out the oils from each bottle, which poses an issue during the re-sterilization process. When oil residue remains inside of a bottle, and that bottle is heated to a high temperature during the sterilization process, the oils would cook to the inside of the bottle, and could negatively impact and alter the new, fresh ingredients going into those bottles. Because of this, we only use new bottles and jars for all of our products. All of our bottle and jars are fully recyclable, so please recycle them so that the glass can still be recycled and reused.

Do you take returns?

Because of the nature of our products, returns are not offered on opened products.

If you receive your order and any of the products are damaged, please take a photo immediately and send it along with a detailed email to info@rdevineskincare.com. Refunds will only be issued for damaged products within 7 days of your orders delivery date.

While reactions occur very, very rarely, if you have a reaction to any of our products, please take a photo and send a detailed email to rachel@rdevineskincare.com and Rachel will be happy to assist you.

SHIPPING QUESTIONS

How do I get free shipping?

Free shipping is offered within Canada only, on all orders over $100. If you cart total adds up to $100 or more, you will see an option for free shipping appear at checkout.

When will my order ship?

All R Devine Skin Care products are formulated and hand-crafted by Rachel, and are all made fresh to order. Once you place your order, Rachel will make each of your products, specifically for you. Fresh products, made with fresh ingredients, will provide your skin with the highest amount of nutrients and the best results. Because of this, please allow 2-5 business days for production time before your product ships. We are a small company, with only two of us doing everything. During times of high volume orders, we may take a bit longer than usual to fill orders, and kindly ask for your patience.

My order hasn’t arrived yet. Where is it?

All orders are shipped with a tracking number through Canada Post. Once your shipping label is created, you will receive your tracking number via email. Delivery within Canada typically takes 1-5 business days. Delivery to the U.S. typically takes 5-8 business days, unless any unforeseen or unexpected delays are caused due to customs. Delays rarely occur, but are more common during the month of December, due to a higher volume in global-wide shipping.

Once your order leaves our studio, shipping delays are completely out of our control. If your order is delayed and you’re worried about it, please send us an email at info@rdevineskincare.com with your tracking number and we can contact Canada Post.
