Refined vs Unrefined Oils in Organic Skin Care

As you’ve probably discovered over the years, skin care products are not all created equally, and believe it or not, ingredients are not all created equally either. One would think that a plant oil would be the same regardless of where you buy it from, but this is not true.

Here’s a perfect example:

Most people assume that when they purchase an oil, such as avocado oil, from the grocery store that it has its full health benefits. Both of the oils in the photo above are avocado oil.

The Oil on the Left
This oil was purchased from the grocery store. It’s refined avocado oil. Refined oils have been processed, stripping the oils of their beneficial nutrients and gorgeous colours.

The Oil on the Right
This oil has been purchased from a farm that supplies the avocado oil that is used in R Devine Skin Care. It’s raw, unrefined and certified organic. Unrefined oils are unprocessed – they are pure, gorgeous and vibrant in colour and contain their full amount of nutrients, vitamins and healthy fats.

The oil on the right provides your body and skin with so many more benefits than the one on the left. The quality of ingredients that go into your body and onto your skin really does matter in how effectively those ingredients will provide nourishment.

I spend a lot of my time sourcing the ingredients that go into R Devine Skin Care for this very reason. I will never sacrifice the quality of my products or the results that these beautiful ingredients provide for your delicate skin.
